Na een klein vergissinkje met de regels (ik had per ongeluk iPhone in de naam gezet) en dus een weekje extra geduld, staat the Quizzer (iPad en client) eindelijk in de app store!
Wat is the Quizzer? Het is een applicatie voor de iPad, waarmee je zelf een quiz kan maken om die daarna met meerdere iPhones en (minimaal) één iPad te spelen. Je kan ook zelf foto’s toevoegen van je camera roll. Trendmatcher heeft er al een erg leuke review over geschreven! Er zijn nog wat verbeterpuntjes, maar daar ga ik zeker mee aan de slag.
The Quizzer is te downloaden in de app store voor 79 cent! De client (antwoordmodule voor de iPhone/iPad) is uiteraard gratis.
After a little problem concerning the rules (I accidentally used iPhone in the app name) and a week extra waiting time, the Quizzer (iPad and client) finally appeared in the store!
What is the Quizzer? It’s an app to design your own quiz and play it with (at least) one iPad and multiple iPhones. You can even add photo’s from your camera roll. Trendmatcher wrote a very nice review for the Quizzer (in Dutch). There are a few imperfections I have to work on, but they will be fixed soon.
You can download the Quizzer from the app store for just 79 eurocent. The client app (for answering the questions) is free.
Op 20 november houd ik mijn eerste TED talk voor TEDxYouth! 20 november 2011 is universal children’s day en zijn er over de hele wereld bijna 100 TEDxYouth-events tegelijk! Voor Nederland is hij in Amsterdam en daar zal ik wat vertellen over mijn apps en hoe en waarom ik die maak. Speciaal voor die dag zal ik ook een TEDxYouth-quiz voor Quizzer maken die kinderen daar tegen elkaar kunnen spelen.
On November 20th I’ll have my first TED talk for TEDxYouth! November 20th 2011 is universal children’s day and almost 100 TEDxYouth events will be held on that day all over the world. For the Netherlands the event will be held in Amsterdam and there I will tell about my apps and why and how I make them. I think it will be fun to make a TEDxYouth-quiz for Quizzer the kids can play there!
Een keer per jaar is er in Nemo Amsterdam het Scientific Festival. Dit jaar was ik daar ook met een spreekuur en ik heb twee keer een presentatie gehouden van mijn apps. Daar heb ik ook voor het eerst de Quizzer laten zien! Het was heel leuk om alle kinderen bezig te zien met de tafels en de volwassenen wilden vooral weten hoe het kon dat ik dit allemaal wist en waar ik het geleerd had. Ik ben ook een paar collega-programmeurs tegen gekomen, ook een jongen van een jaar of 10 die bezig was met C. Als je er dit jaar niet was: het is een aanrader en helemaal gratis!
Once per year Nemo, the interactive science museum for the youth in Amsterdam, hosts the Scientific Festival. This year they invited me to have a consultation hour for everyone with computer/app related questions. I also held a small presentation of my apps, showing the Quizzer in public for the first time. It was great to see all the kids working on their times tables! The adults were mainly interested in how I learned all the stuff I know. I also spoke to a couple of other programmers, one about 10 year old boy learning C with his dad. If you are in the neighborhood next year: it’s a fun and free!
